The Heart Behind Aqualume

Looking back, I don't think I was ever searching for a career.

I was searching for somewhere I belonged.

As a child, I was quiet, deeply sensitive and endlessly curious about the world around me. I found joy in the simplest things — collecting shells along the shoreline, watching the sea, rescuing tiny creatures, and feeling an overwhelming love for animals and nature.

Even then, I found myself asking questions that I couldn't yet answer.

Why do some people live a life of pain whilst others have a life of luxury?

Why is kindness so often overlooked?

Why do some things make us feel peaceful, grounded and completely at ease, while others seem to create chaos within us?

Those questions stayed with me throughout my life.

As I grew older, I discovered different healing pathways. Over time, my own healing journey led me to train as a holistic healing practitioner and eventually to create Aqualume.

Each one offered something beautiful, but what touched me most wasn't the technique itself.

It was witnessing what happens when someone finally feels safe enough to be seen, heard and accepted exactly as they are.

That became the heart of Aqualume.

What If There Is Another Way?

There was a time in my life when I believed that the patterns I had grown up with were simply the way life was meant to be.

Like many people, I carried experiences that quietly shaped how I saw myself, my relationships and the world around me. For a long time, I didn't realise that I was repeating those patterns.

Until one day, I asked myself a simple question.

What if there is another way?

That question changed the direction of my life.

It led me to discover the work of Louise Hay and opened the door to a journey of healing, self-discovery and personal growth. I started reading more, meditating and exploring spirituality and different approaches to healing. Gradually, I found myself drawn towards sound, energy, crystals and the connection between our emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

And somewhere along the way, I began to understand something that has stayed with me ever since.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about remembering who you have always been beneath the hurt, the fear and the expectations placed upon you.

Finding My Way Back

One experience in particular became a turning point.

During my first Sound Healing session, I felt something I had never experienced before. As sound filled the room, tears came without explanation. I left feeling lighter, calmer and deeply moved by the possibility that healing could feel so profound.

In that moment, I knew I wanted to create a space where other people could experience that same sense of peace.

That space became Aqualume.

Aqualume grew from that journey.

Not from having all the answers, but from knowing how important it can be to have somewhere safe to stop, breathe, feel held and begin finding your own way back to yourself.

The Heart of Aqualume

Today, Aqualume is a sanctuary where people are welcomed with kindness, compassion and respect, exactly as they are.

I don't believe healing follows the same path for everyone. Each of us arrives carrying different experiences, different hopes and different stories.

My role is not to tell you who to become.

It is to hold a safe, supportive space while you reconnect with the strength, wisdom and love that already exist within you.

I believe that every one of us holds an incredible capacity to heal, grow and reconnect with ourselves when we are given the right environment.

My greatest hope is that every person who leaves Aqualume feels a little lighter than when they arrived.

More peaceful.

More connected.

And perhaps, for the first time in a long while...

Able to see themselves with kindness.

If there is one thing I hope every person carries with them after leaving Aqualume, it is this...

You are worthy of love exactly as you are.
